Spring break offers plenty of camps for children, teens

Spring break is upon us. For those families not heading out for the annual East County pilgrimage to Disneyland, local governments have a few weeklong camp offerings to keep the children busy.

Spring break programs are a warm commodity, according to Oakley Recreation Coordinator Cindy Coelho. The city’s popular Lego camp is already full and has a waiting list.

We always try to plan a couple of camps for the spring break to keep the children busy, Coelho said. Sign up early, because we fill up fast.

Some camps require preregistration, but several still have openings. Here are a few local offerings:

Snacks provided, but kids should bring a labeled water bottle.
